This is just my personal opinion, but I'd say they're both fairly similar but FP has more realism where RF4 seems just overly filled with tedious bullshit designed to give you more stuff to do in order to slow leveling progress. FP is the better, more balanced game but RF4 has tons of potential.I rather enjoy super grindy games but it's a game that intentionally stacks everything against player progression in such an extreme way as to frustrate you into purchasing premium or paying real money for in-game currency.It's free though so you can try it out without risk.I do enjoy it but again, the experience may be too frustrating to some players.EDIT: fixed incorrect info. But you can develop skills to make your own lures though they don't appear to be very effective so it hardly seems worth spending skill points on, since you only get one point per level.I think FP has a much better casting and hook setting mechanic but RF4 has way more stuff (to waste your extremely hard to earn money on).

They all have their positives and negatives and each are fun in their own unique ways. It looks great and gets tons of updates and maybe someday maybe it will be a good fishing sim, but for now it's a bit boring as there is little to no challenge at all.Time will tell, though.They're all video games though, and are ultimately designed for fun over realism. It's definitely not a sim.
